Hello 🙂 I’m Joy.
I’m a friendly, qualified Counsellor with extensive experience, based in Bristol.
My passion in life is to free women from the shackles of needing acceptance and assurance from everyone around them, through helping them build resilience and empowerment.
I truly believe we’re here to thrive, not just survive. And through my work I help my clients achieve this magical state of thriving; knowing exactly who they are, how to meet their own needs, and that they are worthy of a wonderful life.
Changing perceptions
I know that thinking about counselling is a daunting prospect. “Do I deserve to invest in myself like this? Am I a lost cause? Am I weak for needing help?”
Learning how to give yourself the love and acceptance that you’re aching to receive from others is the most worthy cause of all. You do deserve to get past your low self-worth.
I want you to believe you’re enough. You’re important. You’re lovable just as you are. And you can do anything you want to do.
This might not feel possible for you. But I promise you, if you’re ready to take that first step, we can get there. Are you ready?
My style
I am honest and offer my true self, in order to give you the space to be yourself. People say I’m genuine, thoughtful, organised, caring, creative and have integrity.
I offer a relaxed and confidential space where you matter and can talk in confidence about whatever you want to. We can work together to help you to make sense of what is going on, find clarity and support your wellbeing. I will always work with your best interests in mind.
Finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is really important, and not every counsellor will be right for you. So we can meet to help you get a feel for what I am offering and see whether it is right for you, without getting tied in to anything.
If you’re not sure you’re ready to meet, I offer a free 15 minute phone call to answer any questions you have.
My life
I’m a mum to two boys and a baby girl. When I’m not building Lego, I have lots of hobbies and passions! These include travelling, reading, running, yoga, sewing clothes, listening to music, house plants, wildlife, painting my toe nails, learning things, vegan cooking, baking and sustainability.
